Our doctoral researchers

Since its foundation in 2013, the number of members of the PHGS has grown strongly. While there were only members 35 in the first year, the PHGS now boasts more than 250 active members. The doctoral researchers come from over 30 different countries, starting from Armenia to Venezuela. The majority of the members do their doctorates in the PIER research field particle and astroparticle physics, followed by photon science, infection and structural biology, nanoscience, the competence fields theoretical physics and accelerator research and very new, the emerging topic artefact profiling.

In 2023, the PHGS can look back on more than 200 alumni. The Graduate School is in contact with many of them.

Meet some of our fellows and alumni below.

Theses of PHGS members

The thesis is the crowning finale of each doctoral researcher's time and effort. Since the start of the PHGS in 2013, numerous doctoral theses have been completed by its (former) members.
