Can you describe in one or two sentences what you particularly like (most) about your current academic/working environment?

My current working environment has a warm and friendly atmosphere.

If you like, please let us know what a typical working day looks like for you.

Most of the time I am busy with designing and simulating tiny THz accelerator components in the office. Sometimes I go to the lab and measure the fabricated devices and my implemented ideas. In the meantime, I meet my friends at lunch and sometimes for drinking a coffee at the CAFÉ CFEL.

Which offers of the PHGS did you already use?

I attended the onboarding meeting with Stefanie Tepass. In addition, I signed up for skills trainings and German and English language classes.

How did you benefit from the offers of PHGS? From which 2-3 offers have you benefited the most and in what way?

Language courses are very useful and helpful especially for a PhD student.  I also took one course in programing which is also necessary for most of the students.

Can you describe in one or two sentences why you think the PHGS is a useful institution for doctoral students?

Although we are far from the university campus, PIER provides us with very helpful programs, trainings and courses which is unique to have them at the DESY campus. This can keep the close relationship between the university and DESY.

What is/are your favorite place/s in Hamburg?

I like Hafencity and Speicherstadt.

Can you describe in one or two sentences what you particularly like (most) about your life in Hamburg or Hamburg as a city?

It’s a large beautiful city with a large number of attractions and has a moderate temperature in the winter and summer. But sometimes you miss the sun in the winter time :D

Please finish the following sentence: I never regret to have come to Hamburg because…

… it is one the most beautiful cities in Europe and maybe in the world.
