PIER Graduate Week and Doctoral Seminar
Various interdisciplinary events in the PIER research fields provide early career scientists with the basis for lively scientific discourse. The spectrum of events ranges from cross-curricular doctoral seminars that the participants organise themselves to interdisciplinary lecture weeks.
PIER Doctoral seminar
In the PIER Doctoral Seminar doctoral researchers will learn how to communicate their research results quickly and clearly to a non-expert audience, and they will gain insights into the research work of other doctoral researchers in the PIER research fields. The PIER Doctoral Seminar consists of three modules: preparation workshop, consultion session and presentation days.
The PIER Doctoral Seminar is open to all full and associated members of the PIER Helmholtz Graduate School (PHGS) from the 2nd year of the doctorate. All full members of PHGS must attend the seminar once during their time as a doctoral researcher. See here for the announced PIER Doctoral Seminars.
PIER Graduate Week
The PIER Graduate Week is an interdisciplinary lecture and workshop week for young scientists. Each year, it offers two stimulating bloc courses with topics that are of interest for many doctoral candidates in the wide range of the PIER research fields of Particle & Astroparticle Physics, Nanoscience, Photon Science and Infection & Structural Biology. The next PIER Graduate Week is scheduled for 7 - 11 October 2024. See here for the last PIER Graduate Week 2023.
