Joint UHH and DESY perspectives in nanomaterials research

Workshop/Training | 27 January 2025, 1:30 - 4 pm | DESY auditorium | Networking / Research

The next PIER Workshop on joint UHH and DESY perspectives in nanomaterials research with a focus on "Mesostructures Composed of Nanoscale Building Blocks: Assembly and Properties" will take place at the DESY auditorium on 27 Janaury 2025.

PIER is pleased to announce its next workshop on "Mesostructures Composed of Nanoscale Building Blocks: Assembly and Properties" taking place on 27 January 2025, 1:30-4 p.m. at the DESY auditorium.

The workshop is chaired by Prof. Dr. Alf Mews (UHH).

The aim of the event is to provide an opportunity for mutual exchange and in-depth discussion of future joint research opportunities of DESY, UHH and further Hamburg research institutions on understanding and controlling the assembly of nanoscale building blocks such as nanoparticles into mesoscopic structures and investigation of the properties of the formed mesostructures.

Speakers and talks:

  • Prof. Dr. Dorota Koziej (UHH): “X-Ray Techniques for Exploring the Length Scale in Nanostructured Materials and Devices”
  • Prof. Dr. Nadja Bigall (UHH): “Bridging The Nanoscopic to The Macroscopic World”
  • Prof. Dr. Patrick Huber (DESY/TUHH): “Self-Assembly of Liquid-Crystalline Mesogens in Nanopores as Seen by X-rays"
  • Prof. Dr. Tobias Beck (UHH): “Assembly of Protein Nanocages and Nanoparticles into Mesoscopic Superstructures"
  • Prof. Dr. Andreas Stierle (DESY): “Selforganisation of Hierarchical Materials Investigated by X-Ray Diffraction and Spectroscopy“
