Nanoscience

In the field of nanoscience, the cooperation between the University of Hamburg and DESY concentrates on the areas of nanomagnetism, nanomechanics, nanostructured functional materials, growth, structure formation and nanobiomedicine. The unparalleled PETRA III and FLASH X-ray sources enable researchers in Hamburg to not only analyse nanostructures in extreme detail and with maximal chronological precision but also study the associated key molecular processes that occur at the nanoscale.
